I teach private and semi-private lessons either in my home or yours. The fee is $45 per hour in your home (in Corvallis) or $40 per hour in my home. This price is the same for one to 6 students. So for example, if 6 students are in the class they can split the fee per hour six ways.

10th Annual Cascade En Plein Air Workshop

September 18th, 19th, & 20th, 2009

For all artists who have struggled with the mysteries of seeing and painting water, sky, and foliage. Learn how to see and mix nature’s colors and eliminate unnecessary details. Mountain air, and the water in rivers and lakes are all startlingly clear. Colors are cleaner and easier to identify.

Demos using watercolor, acrylic, and oil. All experience levels and media are welcome.
Helpful critiques & encouragement
Onsite consultations, trouble shooting, questions and answers.
Friday evening demo or slide show, stories, wit, humor, camaraderie, refreshments.

Workshop Dates: Friday, September 18. We will prearrange car pool groups, departure times and places, leaving Corvallis on Friday afternoon, driving to Sisters, OR, to a house we have rented for the weekend. Saturday site: Metolius River.

Sunday site: Clearlake. We will leave from Clearlake to return to Corvallis. Map of Sisters, OR will be mailed to participants. Bring food or buy in Sisters. Cooking and refrigeration available. Bring food coolers. Bring sleeping bag, pillow, pad, towel, etc.

Workshop Fee: $225 per person. Register before Aug. 25 by sending a check for full amount to: Mark Allison at 727 NW 16th St., Corvallis, OR 97330. Following registration you’ll receive a map and a more detailed “what to bring” list. Include your e-mail address and the map and lists will be e-mailed to you. Otherwise we’ll mail them. Register today! Fee is refundable up to 48 hours before workshop. Due to class size limit (12) only half of fee refundable for “no shows.”

Corvallis Fall Festival 2009

I was chosen as the poster artist for the 2009 Corvallis Fall Festival.

A gala reception for the Fine Arts Showcase artists and kick-off for Fall Festival will be held Friday, September 25, 2009, from 6-8 pm. Hours for the show are 10-6 Saturday, September 26, and 10-5 Sunday, September 27. The Corvallis-Benton County Public Library is located at 645 NW Monroe Street, Corvallis.

Sunset is the autumn hour of the day—a time of harvest and contemplation of the blessing of summer’s high noon. My intention was to use Oregon’s natural, magical beauty to create a visionary landscape: a sunset to warm hearts and fill viewers with hope and encouragement.

T-shirts and signed prints using “It Was A Sunny Day” will be available at the Festival.
